Albert Haynesworth

10/7/2005

After sitting out for nearly three weeks with a sprained left knee, Haynesworth returned to practice with the Tennessee Titans on Thursday, albeit on a limited basis. The defensive tackle will test his leg over the next couple of days to determine if he will be available for Sunday's meeting with the Houston Texans. Officially, he has been listed as questionable.

Haynesworth is inactive for the Titans as they face the St. Louis Rams today. Third year player Rien Long fills in at right defensive tackle.

Tests on Haynesworth's ailing left knee have revealed no serious damage, and he is considered day-to-day, according to Titans head coach Jeff Fisher. The defensive tackle hurt his knee when he caught his left leg against the foot of fellow defensive lineman Jared Clauss in the third quarter of Sunday's victory over the Baltimore Ravens. Haynesworth did not practice with the Titans on Wednesday.

Haynesworth had to be helped off the field by Titans trainers before being carted to the locker room during Sunday's victory over the Baltimore Ravens. The Titans' defensive tackle hurt his knee when he caught his left leg against the foot of fellow defensive lineman Jared Clauss in the third quarter and was unable to return. He will be re-evaluated on Monday to determine the extent of the injury.
