Peppers returned to practice with the Carolina Panthers on Tuesday and reportedly had no major problems. The defensive end was bothered by a sore right ankle for the majority of training camp and had been sidelined for the past two weeks after aggravating the ailment in a preseason meeting with the New York Giants. Barring any setbacks, he will be in the starting lineup for Sunday's meeting with the New Orleans Saints.

Sporting a protective boot on his right foot, Peppers did not practice with the Carolina Panthers on Monday. The defensive end, who was the second overall pick in the 2002 NFL Draft, has been nursing a sore ankle for a couple of weeks and aggravated it mildly in Saturday's preseason meeting with the New York Giants. The injury is considered minor, and Peppers said he doesn't expect to miss much time.
