Alan Ricard
8/1/2006
Ricard signed Tuesday with the Buffalo Bills, who are trying to bolster a running attack led by Willis McGahee. Ricard, a five-year veteran, appeared in only two games with Baltimore last season before being placed on injured reserve because of a chronic calf injury.

Limited to just two games by calf injuries that have plagued him since training camp, Ricard has been placed on injured reserve by the Baltimore Ravens, officially ending his season. The fullback will be replaced on the 53-man roster by rookie linebacker Mike Smith.

Ricard aggravated his strained calf muscle in Sunday's loss to the Chicago Bears, and the Ravens have ruled him out of Monday night's matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The fullback has been hobbled by the injury most of the season and has seen action in just two games as a result.

Ricard hasn't seen much work at practice this week after aggravating his strained calf muscle in last weekend's victory over the New York Jets. The Ravens are hoping the fullback can play against the Detroit Lions on Sunday, but admitted that his time could be limited. He has been listed as questionable on the injury report.
