Baker re-signed with Carolina on Tuesday after setting a team record last season with a 38.9 punting average. The punter signed a two-year deal worth $1.8 million, along with a $400,000 signing bonus. The Panthers acquired Baker from the Broncos in a swap of punters last offseason, when they sent Todd Sauerbrun to Denver.

The Denver Broncos have traded Baker and a seventh-round pick in the 2006 NFL Draft to the Carolina Panthers in exchange for three-time Pro Bowl punter Todd Sauerbrun. In 51 career games, Baker has averaged 39.6 yards on 228 punts.
