Antonio Pierce

1/4/2006

Unless he shows dramatic improvement over the next couple of days, Pierce will not be available for the Giants' playoff matchup with the Carolina Panthers this weekend. The linebacker, who has been sidelined since suffering a high ankle sprain nearly a month ago, continues to sport a protective cast on his foot.

According to Giants head coach Tom Coughlin, it is highly unlikely that Pierce will be available for Saturday's matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs after being diagnosed with a high ankle sprain. The linebacker, who suffered the injury last weekend against the Eagles, will be listed as doubtful on this week's injury report.
