Jesse Palmer

11/1/2005

Palmer has signed with the San Francisco 49ers, supplying the team with some much-needed depth at the quarterback position. The veteran is slated to serve as the inexperienced Cody Pickett's backup this weekend, as regular starter Alex Smith (knee) and No. 2 Ken Dorsey (ankle) likely will be unavailable, due to injuries.

9/3/2005

Palmer was among the players released by the New York Giants on Saturday, losing out to Tim Hasselbeck and Jared Lorenzen for the backup quarterback spots behind Eli Manning.

8/12/2005

Palmer reportedly is in the lead in the battle for the Giants' No. 2 quarterback job and will spell Eli Manning after a few series in Saturday's exhibition game against the Cleveland Browns. The 26-year-old signal caller is competing with Tim Hasselbeck for the primary backup role.
