McCareins was activated from the physically unable to perform list on Sunday.

After missing the majority of practice last week with a calf ailment, McCareins was downgraded to questionable on the Jets' injury report over the weekend. However, the injury did not prevent the receiver from playing in Monday night's matchup with the Atlanta Falcons, as he finished the contest with two catches for 46 yards.

After failing to practice with the team last week, McCareins was downgraded from probable to questionable on the Jets' injury report, and he will be a game-time decision for Monday night's matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. The receiver will test out the leg during warmups to determine his availability. If he's unable to go, veteran Wayne Chrebet likely will step into the starting lineup opposite Laveranues Coles.

McCareins has not practiced with the New York Jets this week, sitting out because of a sore knee. The injury is not considered serious, however, and the move is precautionary. The Jets have listed the receiver as probable for Monday night's matchup with the Atlanta Falcons.

McCareins finished Sunday's loss to the Buffalo Bills with a personal-best 116 yards on five catches -- the first 100-yard game of his five-year NFL career. For the season, the Jets' receiver has 17 receptions for 317 yards, but has yet to find the end zone.
