Quincy Morgan

1/10/2006

After breaking his right leg in last weekend's Wild Card win over the Cincinnati Bengals, Morgan will be forced to undergo surgery in the near future and miss the rest of the playoffs. The Steelers' backup receiver appeared in all 16 regular-season games, finishing with just nine catches for 150 yards and two touchdowns. He will be placed on injured reserve.

After being released by the Dallas Cowboys over the weekend, Morgan has signed with the Pittsburgh Steelers, agreeing to a one-year contract. The former second-round pick, who will be entering his fifth NFL season, split the 2004 campaign between Dallas and Cleveland, hauling in 31 passes for 404 yards and three touchdowns in 15 games. Lee Mays was cut to make room on the roster.

The Dallas Cowboys released Morgan on Monday. Picking up Peerless Price sealed Morgan's fate with the Cowboys. Morgan already had fallen behind Patrick Crayton to No. 3 on the depth chart at wide receiver. In 15 games last season, he caught 31 passes for 404 yards and three touchdowns for Cleveland and Dallas.
