Gibson has been placed on injured reserve by the Oakland Raiders, officially ending his 2005 campaign. The safety underwent surgery to insert stabilizing pins into his dislocated left wrist earlier this week and is expected to require 6-8 weeks of recovery time. Linebacker Isaiah Ekejiuba was signed to fill the void on the 53-man roster.

Gibson underwent surgery to insert stabilizing pins into his dislocated left wrist, and the Raiders expect him to be sidelined for the next 6-8 weeks, according to head coach Norv Turner. If the safety recovers on schedule, the team is optimistic that he will be available for a December 18 meeting with the Cleveland Browns.

Gibson suffered a dislocated wrist in Sunday's victory over the Buffalo Bills, and he will be sidelined indefinitely, according to Raiders head coach Norv Turner. The starting safety will undergo more tests on Monday to determine if surgery is necessary. In six games this season, Gibson has 35 tackles and one sack.
