Dan Morgan

12/30/2005

Morgan has failed to practice this week, prompting the Carolina Panthers to downgrade him from questionable to doubtful for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Atlanta Falcons. The linebacker is slowed by a shoulder injury suffered in last weekend's loss to the Dallas Cowboys.

Morgan will be inactive for Sunday's matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. The veteran linebacker has been sidelined since spraining his left ankle in the first quarter of a Week 11 loss to the Chicago Bears, missing the Panthers' last two games.

Morgan, who has been sidelined since spraining his left ankle in the first quarter of a Week 11 loss to the Chicago Bears, did not practice with the Carolina Panthers this week. At this point, it appears the linebacker will be forced to miss his second consecutive game, although he has yet to be ruled out officially.

Morgan was unable to return to the Carolina Panthers' lineup after spraining his left ankle in the first quarter of Sunday's loss to the Chicago Bears. The starting middle linebacker, who will be re-evaluated on Monday to determine the extent of the injury, has been listed as day-to-day for the time being.

Morgan used the Panthers' bye week to rest and rehab his dislocated shoulder, and despite being well shy of full strength, he plans to be in the lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Minnesota Vikings. The linebacker will be forced to wear a harness on the shoulder to supply him with some protection.

Morgan will be sidelined at least during the Panthers bye this week after dislocating his shoulder in Sunday's win over the Detroit Lions. The linebacker will receive treatment on a daily basis, and the team is optimistic that he will be ready to go when Carolina resumes play against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 8. His status will be updated later this week or early next week.

Morgan has agreed to a contract extension that will keep him with the Carolina Panthers through the 2010 campaign. The Pro Bowl linebacker, who was entering the final year of his old deal, recorded 102 tackles, two sacks, two interceptions and a forced fumble in 12 games last season, but missed some time after suffering two concussions.
