David Terrell
9/11/2005
In a salary cap move, Terrell has been released by the Denver Broncos. The receiver is expected to re-sign with the club within the next week, but likely won't see much, if any, playing time until at least Week 3 of the NFL season. In 16 games with the Chicago Bears in 2004, he hauled in 42 passes for 699 yards and a touchdown.

After being released by the New England Patriots over the weekend, Terrell has found a new home, signing a contract with the Denver Broncos. The receiver, who was selected with the eighth overall pick in the 2001 NFL Draft, spent his first four seasons with the Chicago Bears, but failed to live up to his potential and was cut earlier this year. In 16 games in 2004, he hauled in 42 passes for 699 yards and a touchdown.

Acquired by the Patriots as a free agent this offseason, Terrell was among the players cut by New England on Saturday. Terrell had 42 receptions with Chicago in 2004, leading the club with 699 receiving yards.

Terrell had missed some time recently with an undisclosed injury, but he was back at practice with the New England Patriots on Tuesday. The receiver has yet to make his Patriots game debut after signing a one-year contract during the offseason, but he should see some time in Friday's matchup with the Green Bay Packers.
