Michael Vick

12/19/2005

Vick completed 12 of 32 passes for 122 yards and threw two interceptions in a 16-3 loss to the Bears Sunday. The Falcons' quarterback was nursing bruised ribs which he suffered while making a tackle after throwing an interception in last week's win over the New Orleans Saints. Vick rushed for just 35 yards on six carries against the Bears.

12/16/2005

Vick was removed from the Falcons' injury report after taking all the snaps with the first-team offense at practice on Thursday. The quarterback, who had been listed as probable originally, is nursing bruised ribs, and injury suffered while making a tackle after throwing an interception in Monday night's win over the New Orleans Saints. He will be in the starting lineup for Sunday night's matchup with the Chicago Bears.

12/15/2005

Vick missed the majority of the Falcons' practice on Wednesday, but following the workout, he guaranteed that he would be in the lineup for Sunday night's matchup with the Chicago Bears. The quarterback is nursing bruised ribs, and injury suffered while making a tackle after throwing an interception in Monday night's win over the New Orleans Saints. Officially, he is listed as probable.

12/13/2005

While making a tackle after throwing an interception in Monday night's meeting with the New Orleans Saints, Vick bruised his ribs on his right side, but returned to the Falcons' lineup for their next offensive series. However, the quarterback took a shot in the fourth quarter and aggravated the injury, forcing him to leave the game for good and undergo precautionary X-rays. The tests were negative, and the Falcons have listed Vick as day-to-day.

11/21/2005

Vick topped the 300-yard mark for just the second time in his NFL career, but it wasn't enough, as the Falcons lost to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, 30-27. The quarterback completed 21 of his 38 pass attempts for 306 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. He also rushed for 17 yards on four carries, but lost a fumble for the second consecutive contest.

11/7/2005

Vick bounced back from the three-interception outing he had in the Falcons' last game to post his best passing performance of the 2005 campaign in Sunday's victory over the Miami Dolphins. The quarterback completed 22 of his 31 attempts for a season-high 228 yards with one touchdown and no interceptions. He added 38 yards on eight carries as well.

10/25/2005

Vick posted a dismal 16.3 passer rating -- the worst of his NFL career -- in Monday night's victory over the New York Jets, going 11 of 26 for 116 yards, three interceptions and no touchdowns. The Falcons' quarterback also averaged just two yards per carry on nine rushes, but found the end zone twice on the ground in a 27-14 win. He was sacked three times and fumbled twice, both recovered by the Falcons.

10/17/2005

Vick was able to jog off the field under his own power after apparently aggravating his sore right knee in the first half of Sunday's victory over the New Orleans Saints. The quarterback did not miss any time with the ailment and was back under center for the Falcons' next series. He finished the game 11 of 23 for 112 yards, one touchdown and an interception. In addition, Vick added 51 yards on eight carries.

10/16/2005

ESPN is reporting that Vick is ready to go and will start for Atlanta in San Antonio against New Orleans. The quarterback reported no problems with the sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee.

10/14/2005

Vick reported no problems with his knee Thursday morning and was able to take the majority of the snaps with the Falcons' first-team offense for the second consecutive day. The quarterback, who is nursing a sprained medial collateral ligament, now is wearing just a protective sleeve on his knee, instead of the bulky brace he had on the previous week. He's currently listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup with the New Orleans Saints, but could be upgraded.

10/12/2005

Vick no longer was sporting a protective brace on his sprained right knee, as he was able to take part in the majority of the Falcons' practice on Wednesday. The quarterback, who missed the team's last game with the injury, will be re-evaluated on Thursday to see how his knee responds to the workout. He continues to be day-to-day.

10/9/2005

Due to lingering soreness in his knee, Vick will not play in Sunday's matchup with the New England Patriots. The quarterback, who has a minor sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee, did not get as much practice time as he had hoped this week, and as a result, he was downgraded to questionable on the injury report on Saturday. Matt Schaub will get the starting nod in Vick's absence.

10/8/2005

Vick has been downgraded to questionable for Sunday's game against the New England Patriots because of an injured right knee. Whether the quarterback plays is likely to be a gametime decision.

10/7/2005

As was the case the previous two days, Vick did some light running and agility drills on the side during the Falcons' practice on Friday, while backup Matt Schaub took the majority of the snaps with the first-team offense. Vick, who has a minor sprain of the medial collateral ligament in his right knee, remains optimistic that he will play in Sunday's matchup with the New England Patriots. Officially, he is listed as probable.

10/5/2005

Vick was limited to light running on the side during the Falcons' practice on Wednesday, but he reported no major problems with his slightly strained right knee. The quarterback said he plans to expand his involvement in the team's workouts over the next couple of days, and barring any setbacks, he will be under center for Sunday's matchup with the New England Patriots.

10/3/2005

After further evaluation, Vick has been diagnosed with a sprained medial collateral ligament in his right knee, an injury suffered in the second quarter of Sunday's victory over the Minnesota Vikings. The Falcons' quarterback indicated that the ailment does not appear to be serious, and he was held out the rest of the game as a precautionary measure. Backup Matt Schaub took over following his departure.

10/2/2005

Vick re-injured his hamstring in the second quarter of Sunday's game against the Vikings. The Falcons' quarterback was seen limping on the sidelines, and it is questionable if he'll return to the game. Matt Schaub has taken over under center for the Falcons.

9/26/2005

Vick was able to take the field in Sunday's meeting with the Buffalo Bills, despite missing some practice time early last week with a mild hamstring injury. The Falcons' quarterback finished the game 15 of 27 for 167 yards, two touchdowns and an interception. In addition, he rushed for 64 yards on nine carries and avoided being sacked.

9/22/2005

After missing Wednesday's workout, Vick was back under center for the Falcons during Thursday's practice and reported no problems with his troublesome hamstring. As a result, the quarterback has been upgraded from questionable to probable on the team's injury report. He twice was forced to leave last weekend's loss to the Seattle Seahawks with cramping in the back of his leg.

9/21/2005

No serious problems were found with Vick's hamstring, but he'll probably be limited in practice this week as a precautionary measure. The Falcons' quarterback, who twice was forced to leave last weekend's loss to the Seattle Seahawks with cramping in the back of his leg, should be ready for Sunday's meeting with the Buffalo Bills, according to head coach Jim Mora.

9/19/2005

Vick twice was forced to leave late in Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks, due to cramping in his left hamstring. The Falcons' quarterback, who was replaced in the lineup by backup Matt Schaub, will undergo several tests on Monday to determine if the ailment is anything more serious. Prior to his final departure, Vick was 11 for 19 for 123 yards and a touchdown. He also rushed for 43 yards on eight carries, but was sacked three times.
