Brad Hoover

1/19/2006

Hoover returned to practice with the Carolina Panthers on Thursday and reported no major problems with his sprained ankle. As a result, the fullback has been upgraded from questionable to probable on the injury report and is expected to be in the starting lineup for Sunday's NFC Championship game against the Seattle Seahawks.

Still bothered by soreness in his sprained ankle, Hoover was held out of the Panthers' practice on Wednesday. Due to the ailment, the fullback has followed a similar schedule over the past couple of weeks, but has been in the lineup come game time. The same should be expected this weekend, when Carolina faces the Seattle Seahawks for the NFC Championship on Sunday.

Hobbled by a sprained ankle, Hoover has not practiced with the Panthers this week, but the team expects him to be ready for Sunday's playoff matchup with the Chicago Bears, even if he's limited by the injury. Primarily a serving as a blocker, the running back got just two carries in last weekend's Wild Card victory over the New York Giants, but failed to pick up any yardage.
