According to Cardinals head coach Dennis Green, Rackers could return to action as early as this Sunday's matchup with the Washington Redskins. The kicker was expected to miss at least 2-3 weeks with a partially torn left calf muscle, but he has reported significant improvement over the past several days and might be available this week. A final decision is expected by Friday or Saturday.

Tests have revealed that Rackers has a partial tear in his left calf muscle, an injury suffered during practice on Thursday. The kicker is expected to miss at least 2-3 weeks. The team is hopeful Rackers will be back before the end of the season, so he won't be placed on injured reserve at this point.

Rackers left the Cardinals' practice facilities on crutches Thursday after injuring his left calf in practice earlier in the day. The kicker will undergo an MRI to determine the extent of the damage, but he's expected to miss at least one game. The team will bring in possible replacements on Friday.
