Aaron Shea

10/10/2005

After missing the Browns' first three games of the 2005 campaign with a strained muscle in his chest/shoulder, Shea was back in the lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Chicago Bears, as he had hoped. The tight end made his presence felt, tying for the team lead with six catches for 65 yards.

Shea plans to practice with the Browns this week, and if no problems are reported, he should make his 2005 regular-season debut in Sunday's matchup with Chicago. The tight end has been sidelined since straining a muscle in his shoulder/chest in the team's preseason finale against the Bears on September 1.

According to Browns head coach Romeo Crennel, it is highly unlikely that Shea will be ready for Sunday's Week 2 meeting with the Green Bay Packers. The tight end has been unable to work out with the team since straining a muscle in his shoulder/chest in their preseason finale against the Chicago Bears on September 1.

Shea has been unable to work out with the Cleveland Browns since straining a muscle in his shoulder/chest in last Thursday's preseason finale against the Chicago Bears. The tight end, who will be re-evaluated on Wednesday, might be forced to miss Sunday's regular-season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals if he doesn't show any improvement over the next couple of days. He will be listed as questionable.

According to Browns head coach Romeo Crennel, Shea might be held out of Saturday's exhibition game against the New York Giants, due to a strained hip flexor. The tight end currently is listed as day-to-day with the injury, and he expects to be ready for the start of the regular season.
