1/16/2006
Brown aggravated his strained calf muscle late in the second quarter of Sunday's playoff loss to the Carolina Panthers and was unable to return to the Bears' lineup. The same injury forced the safety to miss the last four games of the regular season.

Sidelined since straining a calf muscle prior to a Dec. 11 game against the Pittsburgh Steelers, Brown has been practicing at full speed with the Bears recently, and he does not expect to be limited in Sunday's playoff tussle with the Carolina Panthers. The safety will be in the starting lineup.

Brown practiced for the first time all week on Friday and says he will be able to go when the Bears take on the Green Bay Packers on Sunday. The safety, who remains listed as questionable on the injury report, has been sidelined since straining a calf muscle prior to the dec. 11 game against the Steelers.

Brown continues to be hobbled by a strained calf muscle, and barring a quick recovery over the next couple of days, he won't be in the lineup for Sunday night's battle with the Atlanta Falcons. The Bears' starting safety was limited to individual work during the team's practice on Thursday and currently is listed as doubtful on the injury report.

The strained calf muscle that limited Brown in practice last week prevented him from taking the field in Sunday's matchup with the Pittsburgh Steelers. The safety, who had been listed as questionable going into the game, was replaced in the Bears' lineup by Todd Johnson.
