Julian Peterson

3/21/2006

Peterson and the Seahawks reached a contract agreement on Tuesday, meaning the All Pro linebacker is headed from rival San Francisco to the NFC champions. The deal is for $54 million over seven years, with $18.5 million guaranteed.

After missing the majority of the 49ers last two games, as well as their bye week, due to a strained hamstring, Peterson practiced at full speed with the team on Thursday. The linebacker reported no problems, and as a result, was upgraded to probable on the injury report. Barring any last-minute setbacks, he plans to be in the lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Washington Redskins.

Peterson continues to be hobbled by a strained hamstring, and there's a good chance he could miss his second consecutive game. The linebacker currently is listed as questionable on the 49ers' injury report, as he been unable to work out with the team this week. Expect him to be a game-time decision.

After missing practice most of last week with a hamstring injury, Peterson was absent from the 49ers' lineup for Sunday's game against the Arizona Cardinals. The linebacker, who was replaced by Brandon Moore, had been listed as questionable going into the contest.

Peterson will be limited in practice this week after straining his right hamstring in Sunday's loss to the Dallas Cowboys. The 49ers have listed the linebacker as questionable for their upcoming meeting with the Arizona Cardinals, but head coach Mike Nolan is optimistic that he will be ready for the contest. His status will be updated later in the week.

Peterson will not be 100 percent when the 49ers officially open training camp on July 29, but the linebacker hopes to be ready for contract drills in mid-August and expects to see action in at least one preseason game. Peterson continues to rehab following surgery last October to repair a torn left Achilles tendon, and team doctors told him last week that he is about 75 percent in terms of his recovery.
