Plaxico Burress
1/9/2006
Burress, who led the Giants in receiving during the regular season, was one of the many disappointments in Sunday's Wild Card loss to the Carolina Panthers, as he finished the game without a catch. Quarterback Eli Manning, battling through problems of his own, sent just two passes Burress' way in the entire contest. New York failed to score, dropping the game, 23-0.

The Giants have announced that Burress will start in Sunday's game against the Redskins. Burress, who was listed as questionable with a sprained right shoulder, will play despite not being 100 percent.
10/27/2005
Tests on Burress' sprained right shoulder have revealed no major structural damage, and the Giants expect the receiver to be available for Sunday's meeting with the Washington Redskins. Burress was held out of practice on Wednesday as a precautionary measure, but he plans to return to the field over the next couple of days.
10/24/2005
As a precautionary measure, Burress was scheduled to undergo a few tests on Monday to rule out any major damage in his sprained right shoulder. The receiver, who suffered the injury in Sunday's win over the Denver Broncos, might be limited in practice over the next few days, but he should be in the starting lineup when the Giants take the field against the Washington Redskins next weekend.
10/23/2005
Burress is expected to be in the Giants' Week 7 lineup against the Broncos. New York's top wideout had been questionable due to back spasms.
10/3/2005
Burress had an impressive day on Sunday with a career-high 10 receptions for 204 yards to go with a career-tying two touchdowns against the Rams. Aside from a 30-yard catch in the fourth quarter, all the production came in the first half against St. Louis.
9/26/2005
Burress was absent from the Giants' starting lineup in Sunday's meeting with the San Diego Chargers after showing up late to a team meeting earlier in the week. The receiver still saw plenty of action, finishing the contest with five catches for 52 yards and a touchdown.
9/12/2005
In his first game with the Giants, Burress showed why he was acquired by New York. He caught five passes for 76 yards and one touchdown with a long of 44 yards. He is the top target at wide receiver for Eli Manning, so he should see plenty of passes thrown his way this season.

The injury that Burress suffered on Saturday morning was less serious than originally expected. Giants' trainers initially thought Burress suffered a hyperextended right knee, however, the wide receiver was back on the field for the afternoon practice session.

Plaxico Burress was taken off the field in his very first practice as a New York Giant Saturday morning with what was described as a hyperextended right knee. But the receiver, who signed a six-year, $25 million free agent deal with New York in March, was back on the field for the team's afternoon practice.
