Anthony Wright
4/21/2006
Wright inked a one-year deal with Cincinnati on Thursday and will provide quarterbacking depth for the Bengals while starter Carson Palmer recovers from reconstructive surgery on his left knee. Wright played in nine games and started seven for Baltimore in 2005, setting career highs with 164 completions, 266 attempts and 1,582 passing yards.

Kyle Boller will resume his duties as the Ravens' starting quarterback in Sunday's matchup with the Jacksonville Jaguars after missing the last six games with a hyperextended toe. As a result, Wright, who is nursing a sprained left ankle, will drop a spot on the depth chart and handle the primary backup role going forward.

Regular starter Kyle Boller is slated to miss at least three more weeks with a hyperextended right big toe, meaning Wright will remain under center for the Baltimore Ravens. Since taking over for Boller in the team's season opener, Wright has gone 44 of 71 for 426 yards, two touchdowns and three interceptions. He's also been sacked eight times and lost a fumble.

With regular starter Kyle Boller sidelined with a hyperextended right big toe, the Baltimore Ravens will give Wright the starting nod in next weekend's meeting with the Tennessee Titans. The 29-year-old quarterback took over when Boller went down in Sunday night's loss to the Indianapolis Colts, going 19 of 31 for 214 yards, one touchdown and one interception. He also was sacked twice and lost a fumble.
