Desmond Clark

10/17/2005

Because of an illness, Clark was unable to do much at practice with the Bears last week, but he was in the lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Minnesota Vikings. The tight hauled in just four passes for 19 yards, but two resulted in touchdowns -- his first of the season.

As a precautionary measure, Clark has been held out of practice since straining his neck in the Bears' Week 3 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. However, the tight end plans to work out with the team later this week and be ready for Sunday's meeting with the Cleveland Browns. The Bears had a bye last week, giving Clark some extra time to recover from the injury.

Clark was knocked out of Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals after straining his neck in the first half. Following the contest, the Bears' tight end said the injury is minor, and he plans to be ready for the team's next battle. Chicago has a bye in Week 4.

Clark is finally back on the field with the Chicago Bears. For the first time since spraining his ankle in May, the tight end took part in the team's workout on Sunday and reported no major problems. He had 24 catches for 282 yards and one touchdown last season and hopes to improve on those numbers in 2005.

Clark, recovering from a sprained ankle suffered prior to the start of the Bears' minicamp in May, did some light work after Friday's workout, and is nearly ready to return to practice. The tight end has missed the entire first week of the team's minicamp, but he appears close to returning.

Clark continues to recover from a sprained ankle, an injury suffered just prior to the start of the Bears' minicamp in May. As a result, the tight end will begin training camp on the active/non-football injury list, allowing him to fully recover from the ailment. Barring any setbacks, he should be ready for the start of the regular season.
