Dat Nguyen

3/3/2006

Nguyen announced his retirement from the Dallas Cowboys on Thursday ending his eight-year career.

11/28/2005

Nguyen will miss the rest of the 2005 campaign after being placed on injured reserve by the Dallas Cowboys on Monday. The linebacker, who has been battling nagging neck and knee injuries, reportedly is considering retirement, according to head coach Bill Parcells. He finishes the year with 31 tackles, one sack and an interception

10/23/2005

Nguyen will miss his third straight game when the Cowboys take on the Seahawks on Sunday. The Cowboys' starting inside linebacker did not even make the trip to Seattle due to a lingering neck injury. The announcement comes as somewhat of a surprise, as Nguyen had been able to practice this past week.

10/14/2005

Nguyen will be re-evaluated on Friday to determine how his ailing neck held up after returning to practice with the Dallas Cowboys the previous day. If no problems are reported, the linebacker likely will expand his workouts over the next couple of days and should be available for Sunday's meeting with the New York Giants. He did not play in last weekend's victory over the Philadelphia Eagles.

Nguyen, who has been bothered by a sore neck for the last couple of weeks, will not be active for Sunday's game against the Philadelphia Eagles. With the linebacker sidelined, the Cowboys will look to Scott Shanle to fill the void in the starting lineup.
