Cloud has signed with the New York Giants, claiming the roster spot of fellow running back Derrick Ward, who was placed on injured reserve on Tuesday. Cloud appeared in six games with the New England Patriots earlier this year, rushing for 59 yards on 23 carries.

For the second time this season, Cloud has been released by the New England Patriots. Added to supply the team with some depth in its banged-up backfield, the running back has appeared in six games this year, rushing for 59 yards on 23 carries.

Cloud has been released by the New England Patriots. The running back saw limited action in four games with the club, picking up eight yards on nine carries. He spent training camp with the New York Giants, but did not make the regular-season roster.

Cloud, who was released by the New York Giants just prior to the start of the 2005 campaign, has signed with the New England Patriots, supplying the team with some much-needed backfield depth. The running back had three rushing touchdowns in 10 games with the Giants last season.
