Kevin Faulk

12/4/2005

Faulk will serve as Corey Dillon's primary backup in Sunday's meeting with the New York Jets, replacing Patrick Pass, who is out with a hamstring injury. The running back returns to action after being sidelined since Week 3 with an undisclosed foot problem.

Sidelined since Week 3 with an undisclosed foot injury, Faulk has returned to practice with the New England Patriots this week, albeit on a limited basis. Despite the progress, it is unlikely that the running back will see any action in Sunday's matchup with the New York Jets. Officially, he is listed as questionable.

Faulk's undisclosed foot injury has improved recently, and he will test things out at practice over the next couple of days to determine his availability for Sunday's matchup with the New York Jets, according to Patriots head coach Bill Belichick. The running back has not played since Week 3, missing the team's last eight games.

The Boston Globe is reporting that Faulk will miss New England's game against Kansas City Sunday with a foot injury. The ailment has kept Faulk sidelined for the last six games, but he appeared to be inching closer to a return a week ago. He didn't practice late in the week and was ruled out for Sunday's game.

The New England Patriots have not released any official news about Faulk's leg injury, but reportedly the running back recently underwent surgery to repair a broken bone in his foot. There is currently no timetable for his return. In three games this season, Faulk has 28 yards on 14 carries, along with 13 catches for 116 yards. He's also lost two fumbles.

Reportedly, Faulk suffered an undisclosed leg injury in Sunday's win over the Pittsburgh Steelers, and there are rumors floating around that the reserve running back could be sidelined for several weeks. The Patriots have not released any specifics about the injury, but the club has signed veteran Amos Zereoue to supply some depth behind starting tailback Corey Dillon.
