Jevon Kearse

11/23/2005

Kearse registered 2.5 sacks and two forced fumbles in the Eagles 27-17 loss to the Giants on Sunday. This was the most sacks for the Eagles defensive end since he got three on Sept. 26, 2004 against the Lions.

Kearse's sprained right shoulder has responded to treatment over the past couple of days, and he was able to return to practice with the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday. Barring any last-minute setbacks, the defensive end will be in the starting lineup for Sunday's battle with the Washington Redskins.

Tests on Kearse's sprained right shoulder revealed no major damage, but defensive end did not practice with the Philadelphia Eagles on Wednesday and currently is listed as questionable for Sunday's meeting with the Washington Redskins. His availability this weekend will depend on what he can do over the next couple of days.

Kearse has been diagnosed with a sprained AC joint in his right shoulder after going down in the first quarter of Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos. According to Eagles head coach Andy Reid, the defensive end will undergo a precautionary MRI on Monday to rule out any serious damage. For now, he has been listed as day-to-day.
