Jake Delhomme

1/23/2006

Delhomme was under pressure from the Seahawks' defense all day in Sunday's NFC Championship game, and his numbers suffered as a result. In the 34-14 loss, the Panthers' quarterback posted a season-worst 34.9 passer rating, going 15 of 35 for 196 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. He was sacked twice.

When the Carolina and Chicago faced off in Week 11 of the regular season, the Bears' defense shut down Delhomme, sacking him eight times and forcing two interceptions. The quarterback more than made up for that dismal performance, leading the Panthers to a 29-21 victory in Sunday's playoff battle. He finished 24 of 33 for 319 yards, three touchdowns and one interception. The Bears were able to record just one sack in the game.

12/19/2005

Delhomme was 13 of 22 passing for 176 yards, one touchdown and one interception in a 27-10 win over the Saints Sunday. With the 176 yards, the Panthers' quarterback joined Steve Beuerlein (12,690) as the only quarterbacks to surpass 10,000 yards passing for the Panthers. Delhomme has 10,103 yards passing in his first three seasons with the Panthers.

Delhomme showed no ill effects from the hit he took from the Lions' Kenoy Kennedy in the Panthers' previous contest, turning in his best performance of the 2005 campaign in Sunday's 38-13 victory over the Minnesota Vikings. The quarterback posted a 141.1 passer rating, going 21 of 30 for 341 yards and three touchdowns. He did not have a turnover for the first time this season.

10/28/2005

Delhomme was forced to leave the Panthers' game against Detroit on October 16 after taking a hard hit from Kenoy Kennedy, but he used the team's bye week to recover from the blow and took all his normal reps with the first-team offense at practice on Thursday. The quarterback will be under center when Carolina takes the field against the Minnesota Vikings on Sunday.

10/17/2005

Delhomme was a bit woozy after taking a crushing blow from Kenoy Kennedy late in Sunday's matchup with the Detroit Lions and was forced to leave in favor of backup Chris Weinke. Following the contest, Panthers head coach John Fox said the quarterback was "shaken up", but initial tests did not reveal any major injuries. He has been listed as day-to-day.

10/11/2005

Carolina quarterback Jake Delhomme injured his thigh during Sunday's win over Arizona. Head coach John Fox said that although the injury is nagging his quarterback, Delhomme is considered day-to-day. Delhomme nearly came out of the game this past Sunday, but remained in after some of the pain subsided.

9/26/2005

Delhomme went 19 of 35 for 285 yards and three touchdowns, but the Carolina Panthers came up just short in Sunday's loss the Miami Dolphins, dropping the game, 27-24. The quarterback's game wasn't perfect, however, as he was sacked four times, threw an interception and lost a fumble.
