Itula Mili

10/2/2005

Mili has been practicing with the team since last week, and although he's close to being ready for game action, Seahawks coach Mike Holmgren said that the tight end is still a week away. Mili is continuing to build strength after suffering an intestinal disorder that caused him to lose 15 pounds over the offseason.

Wanting Mili to put some weight back on after losing 20 pounds due to an intestinal blockage, the Seattle Seahawks decided to hold him out of Sunday's meeting with the Arizona Cardinals as a precautionary measure. The tight end, who returned to practice with the team last week, will continue to expand his workouts over the coming days, and according to head coach Mike Holmgren, he should be available for this weekend's tussle with the Washington Redskins.

After missing more than two weeks with an intestinal blockage, Mili has resumed practicing with the Seattle Seahawks, and barring any setbacks, he should see some time in Sunday's matchup with the Arizona Cardinals. The tight end does not appear on the team's injury report this week.

According to Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren, Mili might be forced to undergo surgery to remove the blockage in his intestine. The tight end is being bothered by scar tissue left over from when he had his appendix removed. He did not play in Sunday's regular-season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Due to an intestinal problem, Mili did not travel with the Seahawks for Sunday's regular-season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The tight end, who spent some time in the hospital on Thursday, hopes to rejoin the team early in the week. He is listed as day-to-day.
