Eric Warfield

3/2/2006

Warfield was released by the Chiefs in an effort for the team to get under the salary cap for the upcoming season. He was joined by corner back Dexter McCleon and linebackers Shawn Barber and Gary Stills as the four players released by the Chiefs.

10/5/2005

Warfield will be available for duty when the Kansas City Chiefs resume play against the Washington Redskins in Week 6 after finishing a four-game suspension for violating the league's substance abuse policy. The cornerback did not miss a game last season, notching 58 tackles and four interceptions, one of which he returned for a touchdown.

7/13/2005

After pleading no contest to his third DUI in three years in January, Warfield has been suspended for four games by the NFL for violation of the league's substance abuse policy. The cornerback will be forced to miss the Chiefs' first four games of the 2005 regular season. He has started 63 of the team's last 64 contests.
