Matt Hasselbeck

2/6/2006

Hasselback was 26 of 49 passing for 273 yards with one touchdown and one interception in Sunday's 21-10 Super Bowl loss to the Steelers. The Seahawks' quarterback completed a 16-yard TD pass to Jerramy Stevens in the third quarter.

Hasselbeck had an efficient day in Sunday's NFC Championship victory over the Carolina Panthers, completing 20 of his 28 pass attempts for 219 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions. The Seahawks' quarterback also rushed six times, picking up 27 yards.

Losing league MVP Shaun Alexander in the first quarter might have looked like a game-deciding injury for the Seattle Seahawks, but Hasselbeck threw for one touchdown and ran for another in a 20-10 win over Washington Saturday. Hasselbeck directed the team to its first playoff win since 1984, ending a string of six consecutive postseason losses.

According to Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren, Hasselbeck will be in the starting lineup for Sunday's regular-season finale against the Green Bay Packers. However, with a spot in the playoffs secured, the quarterback likely won't see much action, as the team does not want to risk him getting injured. Expect Seneca Wallace to take the majority of the snaps this weekend.

Despite playing just three quarters, Hasselbeck posted some of his best totals of the 2005 campaign in Sunday's win over the San Francisco 49ers. The Seahawks' quarterback notched a season-high 127.3 passer rating, going 21 of 25 for 226 yards, four touchdowns and one interception. He gave way to backup Seneca Wallace in the fourth quarter with the game well in hand.

10/10/2005

Hasselbeck posted a 113.5 passer rating and topped the 300-yard mark for the first time this season, leading the Seahawks to a 37-31 victory over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday. The quarterback completed 27 of his 38 pass attempts on the day for 316 yards, two touchdowns and no interceptions.

9/28/2005

As a precautionary measure, Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren will limit Hasselbeck's throws in practice this week, due to general soreness. The quarterback has been nursing a sore arm most of this month, but the ailment never has been considered serious. Backup Seneca Wallace will see a little more work than usual.

9/17/2005

Seahawks head coach Mike Holmgren reported that Hasselbeck will be his starting quarterback for Sunday's game against the Falcons, despite a sore arm. Last week against the Jaguars, Hasselbeck passed 37 times, completing 21 times for 246 yards and two touchdowns.

9/12/2005

Despite passing for 246 yards and two touchdowns, Hasselbeck struggled overall in Sunday's season opener against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Seahawks' quarterback tossed three interceptions, lost a fumble and was sacked twice.
