Lance Schulters

7/28/2005

Schulters has signed with the Miami Dolphins, agreeing to a one-year contract. In a salary cap move which saved the team more than $4 million, the Tennessee Titans released the safety last month after he missed all but three games last season due to a severely sprained left foot. In 91 career games, the 30-year-old Schulters has 431 tackles, 15 interceptions and 5.5 sacks.

Unable to agree to terms on a restructured contract, the Titans cut Schulters on Thursday. The team had hoped the 30-year-old starting safety would take a pay cut after missing all but three games last season due to a severely sprained left foot. By releasing Schulters now, Tennessee will be able to spread his cap hit over the next two seasons.
