8/19/2005
After beginning training camp on the physically unable to perform list, Dwight made his game debut with the Patriots in Thursday's exhibition meeting with the New Orleans Saints. The veteran receiver, who had been recovering from offseason toe surgery, led the team with 69 yards on three catches, including a tough 45-yard reception in traffic.

The Patriots removed Dwight from the active-physically unable to perform list on Monday, and the wide receiver/kick returner participated in team drills for the first time since the opening of training camp last Thursday. Dwight was signed as a free agent from the Chargers, and has been recovering from offseason surgery on his right big toe. He averaged 24.4 yards on 50 kickoff returns last season.

A foot injury has landed Dwight on the New England Patriots' preseason physically unable to perform list. The receiver, who signed a one-year contract with the Pats in March, is expected to be ready for the start of the regular season. In 12 games with the San Diego Chargers last season, Dwight had just two catches for 31 yards and a touchdown. He also averaged 24.4 yards on 50 kickoff returns, scoring one TD.
