The Pittsburgh Post-Gazette reported that Ward returned to practice for the Steelers on Tuesday after being sidelined by a hamstring injury. The wide receiver missed the team's 21-13 preseason loss to the Arizona Cardinals on Saturday and his status for this Saturday's preseason meeting with the Minnesota Vikings is uncertain.
2/6/2006
Ward caught five passes for 123 yards and a touchdown to become MVP of Sunday's 21-10 Super Bowl win over the Seahawks. The Steelers' wide receiver scored a 43-yard TD on a pass from Antwaan Randle El in the fourth quarter.

Ward skipped the Steelers' practice on Wednesday to rest his sore ankle, but he was back on the field with the team Thursday, taking part in the full workout. The veteran receiver will be in the lineup for Sunday's tussle with the Minnesota Vikings.
12/5/2005
Ward had his best game of the 2005 campaign on Sunday, but it wasn't enough, as the Steelers finished a touchdown short in a 38-31 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. The veteran receiver hauled in nine Ben Roethlisberger passes for 135 yards and two touchdowns. He has found the end zone four times in his last four games.
11/14/2005
After notching just one reception in last week's win over the Packers, Ward got back on track in Sunday's victory over the Cleveland Browns, hauling in eight passes for a season-high 124 yards and a touchdown. The Steelers' wideout now has 543 receptions in his career, breaking the franchise record of 537, formerly held by Hall of Famer John Stallworth.

Ward's ailing hamstring continues to show improvement, and the receiver will be listed as probable for Monday night's meeting with the Baltimore Ravens, according to Steelers head coach Bill Cowher. Ward, who missed one game with the injury but returned this past Sunday, might be limited in practice over the next couple of days as a precautionary measure.
10/23/2005
Ward will return to the Steelers' starting lineup in their Week 7 matchup with the Bengals. Ward missed last week's loss to the Jaguars with a hamstring injury. The Pittsburgh wideout has just 18 catches this season, but four of those grabs have gone for scores.
10/22/2005
Ward, who missed last week's game against the Jacksonville Jaguars with a hamstring injury, has been upgraded to probable for Sunday's contest against the Cincinnati Bengals.
10/20/2005
Ward returned to practice with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Thursday and reported that his ailing hamstring continues to improve. Barring any last-minute setbacks, the veteran receiver plans to be in the starting lineup for Sunday's matchup with the Cincinnati Bengals. Nursing the injury for the past few weeks, Ward currently is listed as questionable.
10/17/2005
Ward was unable to practice with the Steelers last week, and after testing his hamstring prior to Sunday's meeting with the Jacksonville Jaguars, he decided to sit out the game. The receiver was optimistic going into the weekend, but thought it would be better to give his leg another week to heal up. Cedrick Wilson got the starting nod in his absence.
10/15/2005
Ward missed his third straight day of practice Friday because of a hamstring problem, lessening his chances of being able to play Sunday when the Steelers take on the Jacksonville Jaguars. Ward, who has played in 116 straight games, wants to play and calls his status a game-time decision.
10/13/2005
As has been the case the last couple of weeks, Ward will be limited in practice, due to tenderness in his hamstring. Despite the injury, the Steelers' veteran receiver has yet to miss any game action and fully expects to be in the lineup against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday. Officially, he has been listed as questionable.

10/10/2005
Ward has taken part in portions of the Steelers' practices over the past few days, but as a precautionary measure, his action has been limited. Hines and the Pittsburgh Steelers worked out a four-year deal a week before the NFL season is to begin. The two sides came to terms after a long, sometimes contentious process that included a two-week holdout by the wide receiver at the start of training camp.
8/16/2005
Ward ended his two-week holdout and reported to camp with the Pittsburgh Steelers on Monday. The receiver, who has one year left on his current contract, will begin working out with the team on Wednesday, but plans to continue negotiating a possible long-term deal. Ward's 381 catches over the past four years combined is the NFL's third-best total during that span, and he's topped the 1,000-yard mark each of those seasons.
8/1/2005
Ward did not report to Steelers camp on Sunday, officially becoming Pittsburgh's first key holdout in a dozen years. The All Pro wide receiver, whose total of 381 catches over the past four years combined is the NFL's third-best total during that span, has one left on his current contract and is seeking a long-term deal. The last prominent Pittsburgh player to fail to come to camp on time because of a contract dispute was running back Barry Foster in 1993.
