Kailee Wong

10/18/2005

Tests have revealed that Wong has a torn patella tendon in his right knee, an injury suffered in Sunday's loss to the Seattle Seahawks. The Houston Texans plan to place the linebacker on injured reserve, officially ending his 2005 campaign. He finishes the season with 33 tackles and one sack in five games.

Wong has signed a contract extension that will keep him with the Houston Texans through the 2009 campaign. Official financial terms were not released, but the new deal reportedly is worth more than $17.5 million. In 16 games last season, the linebacker recorded 71 tackles, 5.5 sacks, three interceptions and one forced fumble.
