Woodson signed a multiyear deal with the Green Bay Packers on Monday. Though terms of the deal weren't announced, Woodson's agent, Kevin Poston, said last Wednesday that the Packers agreed to a seven-year deal for $52.7 million, including $10.5 million in the first year. The 29-year-old cornerback spent his first eight seasons with Oakland, registering 456 tackles and 17 interceptions.

Woodson agreed to a seven-year deal with the Green Bay Packers on Wednesday for $52.7 million, including $10.5 million in the first year of the contract. The 29-year-old former Raiders cornerback spent his first eight seasons with Oakland, registering 470 tackles and 17 interceptions in 106 games. Woodson was the fourth overall pick by the Raiders in the 1998 draft.

Woodson's 2005 campaign officially came to an end on Thursday, when he was placed on injured reserve by the Oakland Raiders. The team had hoped the veteran cornerback would be able to return from a broken right leg before the end of the season, but with playoff chances long gone, there was no reason to rush him back on to the field. Tight end James Adkisson was promoted from the practice squad to fill the void on the roster.

According to Raiders head coach Norv Turner, further tests on Woodson's right leg have confirmed the original diagnosis of a broken fibula, and the cornerback is expected to be sidelined for the next 6-8 weeks. Woodson will have his foot placed in a protective walking boot, but he will not be required to undergo surgery.

Woodson will be sidelined indefinitely after suffering a broken bone in his right foot while making a tackle in the first quarter of Sunday's win over the Buffalo Bills. The Raiders' cornerback, who was sporting a protective boot following the game, will undergo more tests on Monday to determine how much time he might miss. Initial reports suggest that Woodson will be out 6-8 weeks.

Woodson suffered a groin injury during practice on Saturday morning. The Raiders held the cornerback out of the afternoon session as a precautionary measure. The injury is not considered serious.
