Cam Cleeland

12/14/2005

Cleeland has been released by the St. Louis Rams. The veteran tight end signed with the team in early October and appeared in nine games, but hauled in just five passes for 17 yards and a touchdown. Jerome Collins is slated to be promoted from the practice squad to fill the void on the 53-man roster.

Cleeland is expected to practice with the St. Louis Rams on Wednesday after signing with the team a day earlier. The veteran tight end fills the roster spot of Roland Williams, who will miss the rest of the 2005 campaign with a dislocated knee. In 16 games with the Rams last season, Cleeland had seven catches for 57 yards.
