Springs was back at practice with the Washington Redskins on Tuesday, and he plans to be in the lineup for Saturday's playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks, his former team. The cornerback injured his groin in the Redskins' regular-season finale and was unable to play in last weekend's Wild Card victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Springs was unable to play in Saturday's playoff victory over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers after aggravating a groin injury the previous weeks. According to Redskins trainer Bubba Tyer, the cornerback has shown improvement over the past several days, and the team is optimistic that he will be available for this weekend's matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.

Springs aggravated a groin injury in the first half of the Redskins' 31-20 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday. The veteran cornerback had an MRI on Monday, but team officials weren't expecting the results until Tuesday. "I wouldn't expect him to do much in the way of practice," trainer Bubba Tyer said. Washington is slated to play its first playoff game since 1999 when it faces the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Saturday.

On Friday, Washington head coach Joe Gibbs said that "it doesn't look good" when asked if Springs might be ready to play Sunday against the Kansas City Chiefs. The Washington cornerback suffered a bruised shin in practice three days before the Redskins lost to the Denver Broncos last Sunday, then aggravated the injury in the first quarter and left the game.

According to head coach Joe Gibbs, barring a miraculous recovery, Springs likely won't be available for Sunday's matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs. The cornerback is nursing a bruised shin and has been unable to work out with the Redskins this week. He remains listed as questionable on the injury report.

Springs tweaked his hamstring during Saturday's scrimmage against the Baltimore Ravens. The injury is not considered serious.
