Tiki Barber

8/12/2006

Barber was held out of the New York Giants' preseason game on Friday against the Baltimore Ravens despite being healthy.

1/3/2006

Other than some minor soreness, Barber reported no serious problems with the ankle he tweaked late in Saturday's win over the Oakland Raiders. The running back, who finished the game with 203 yards and a touchdown on 28 carries and six catches for 60 yards, plans to take part in the majority of the Giants' practices this week. He will be in the starting lineup for Sunday's Wild Card matchup with the Carolina Panthers.

Barber ran for a Giants' team record 220 yards on 29 carries in Saturday's victory over Kansas City. The running back also scored two touchdowns. The old record was 218 yards, set by Gene Roberts in 1950 against the Chicago Cardinals.

12/12/2005

A week after posting a season-high 30 carries, Barber topped the mark in Sunday's overtime win over the Philadelphia Eagles, rushing 32 times for 124 yards. The Giants' veteran running back, who also hauled in five passes for 71 yards and a touchdown, has recorded 100 total yards or more in each of his last eight games.

12/5/2005

Rushing a season-high 30 times, Barber notched his third consecutive 100-yard game, picking up 115 yards in Sunday's 17-10 victory over the Dallas Cowboys. The Giants' running back now has topped the century mark five times this season, and his 102.8 yards rushing per game is a career high.

11/28/2005

Barber topped the century mark on the ground for the fourth time this season, including two weeks straight, but his performance went to waste, as the Giants lost to the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday, 24-21. The veteran running back finished with 151 yards on a season-high 26 carries, and added five catches for 27 yards.

11/21/2005

Barber had to be helped off the field in Sunday's win over the Philadelphia Eagles after suffering an undisclosed foot injury in the fourth quarter. However, the ailment is considered minor, and the veteran running back was able to work out with the team on Monday. He should be fine for next weekend's matchup with the Seattle Seahawks.

11/14/2005

Barber was the majority of the Giants' offense in Sunday's 24-21 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, as he led the team in both rushing and receiving. The veteran running back picked up 95 yards and scored a touchdown on 23 carries, while adding a season-high eight catches for 111 yards.

10/31/2005

Barber could not be stopped in Sunday's win over the Washington Redskins, as he rushed for a career-high 206 yards on 24 carries. The Giants' veteran running back, whose previous best was a 203-yard outing against the Eagles in 2002, found the end zone on a four-yard run late in the third quarter.

10/3/2005

With quarterback Eli Manning tossing four touchdown passes and wideout Plaxico Burress topping 200 yards receiving, Barber's solid outing in Sunday's win over the St. Louis Rams nearly went unnoticed. The Giants' veteran running back had his best game of the season, picking up 128 yards and scoring a touchdown on 24 carries. He also added two catches for 15 yards.

9/20/2005

Barber notched his second and third touchdowns of the season in Monday night's win over the New Orleans Saints. The Giants' veteran running back finished the contest with 83 yards and a score on 22 carries, while also hauling in one pass for a six-yard TD. He had a career-high 15 touchdowns in 2004.

9/8/2005

Barber has signed an extension with the New York Giants that will keep him under contract through the 2008 campaign. The 30-year-old running back rushed for a team-record 1,518 yards on 322 carries last season, scoring 13 touchdowns. In addition, he hauled in 52 passes for 578 yards and two TDs.
