Carlos Emmons
12/27/2005
Emmons, who suffered a slight tear in his right pectoral muscle earlier this season, aggravated the problem last week and has been placed on injured reserve by the New York Giants. The linebacker will miss the rest of the 2005 campaign. In nine games this year, he recorded 49 tackles and one interception.

An MRI has revealed that Emmons has a slight tear in his right pectoral muscle, an injury suffered last weekend against the Denver Broncos. The linebacker was unable to practice with the Giants on Wednesday, and he's currently listed as questionable for Sunday's matchup with the Washington Redskins.

Emmons was unable to take the field against the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, due to the sore left knee that warranted an MRI exam late last week. The Giants' linebacker had been listed as questionable going into the contest. He will be re-evaluated over the next couple of days to determine his status and availability for the team's next game.

Emmons missed the Giants' practice on Thursday to undergo a precautionary MRI on his sore knee. The linebacker did not appear on the team's initial injury list this week, but he could be added if he's unable to take part in Friday's workout. For now, he is listed as day-to-day.
