Fred Miller

12/9/2005

Miller and Olin Kreutz were fined $50,000 each by the NFL on Friday for their Nov. 7 altercation at a FBI shooting range. The fight, which resulted in a broken jaw for Miller, was ruled to violate the league's special conduct policy on off-the-field actions.

Miller has been practicing with the Bears all week, prompting the team to upgrade him from questionable to probable on the injury report. The offensive lineman has been recovering since undergoing minor surgery to repair his broken jaw, an injury suffered in an off-day brawl with teammate Olin Kreutz. The Bears originally indicated Miller got hurt when he fell at his home.

Miller was forced to undergo surgery to repair damage to his jaw after falling in his home earlier this week. According to Bears head coach Lovie Smith, the starting right tackle will be sidelined for at least the next two weeks.
