Johnstone rejoined Oakland on Thursday, signing a contract with the Raiders after spending the last five seasons with Minnesota. The defensive end led the Vikings with 7 1/2 sacks last season despite playing only 12 games.

According to Vikings trainer Chuck Barta, Johnstone has a injury to his pectoral muscle where it attaches to the shoulder bone. The defensive end underwent an MRI on Monday to determine the extent of the injury. His status is expected to be updated once the results of the tests are known.
