Chris Villarrial

12/9/2005

The Bills are hopeful Villarrial will be able to start Sunday when the Bills host the New England Patriots. The offensive lineman practiced for the first time all week Friday. He injured his hamstring in last week's loss to Miami and is still listed as questionable for the Patriots game.

Villarrial reported was forced to spend Sunday night in the hospital undergoing tests and receiving treatment for an intestinal problem. The Bills' offensive lineman was released on Monday, and he return to practice with the team on Thursday. He plans to be in the lineup for Sunday's meeting with the New York Jets.

Villarrial's sprained ankle has shown improvement over the past several days, and he is practicing with the Buffalo Bills this week. The offensive lineman was unable to finish last week's season opener against the Texans, but he's slated to be in the staring lineup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday.

According to Buffalo Bills head coach Mike Mularkey, Villarrial likely won't practice with the team on Thursday after spraining his ankle during Wednesday's workouts. The starting right guard will be re-evaluated over the next couple of days to determine the extent of the injury.
