Paul Grasmanis
5/23/2006
The Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle retired on Tuesday, ending a 10-year NFL career filled with injuries. Grasmanis joined the Eagles in 2000, and made 126 tackles and 10 1/2 sacks in 54 games in Philadelphia. He played just eight games over the last three seasons, missing most of 2003 and 2005 with a torn Achilles' tendon.

According to Eagles head coach Andy Reid, Grasmanis has a torn right Achilles tendon. The defensive tackle, who suffered the injury during the third quarter of Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs, will miss the rest of the 2005 campaign. He will be placed on injured reserve.
