Moe Williams

11/16/2005

As anticipated, Williams underwent arthroscopic surgery on his ailing knee this week, and unfortunately, doctors found more problems than anticipated originally. The damage was repaired, but the running back is expected to miss the rest of the 2005 campaign as he recovers from the procedure. He will be placed on injured reserve by the Vikings in the near future. Williams has battled back problems this year as well.

11/14/2005

Williams is scheduled to undergo arthroscopic surgery later this week to determine the cause of the discomfort in his ailing knee. The Vikings' running back, who has been dealing with back pain as well, will be sidelined indefinitely. Ciatrick Fason will continue to fill the role as the team's short-yardage back until Williams is able to return.

11/6/2005

Williams is not expected to be available for Sunday's meeting with the Detroit Lions, as he continues to be hampered by a back problem and a sore knee. The Vikings will look to Ciatrick Fason to fill the role as the team's short-yardage back until Williams is able to return.

11/1/2005

Williams continues to be hampered by soreness in his back, so he will undergo an MRI early this week to determine the cause of the discomfort, according to Vikings head coach Mike Tice. The running back has been listed as day-to-day for the time being.

10/14/2005

Williams remained limited in practice on Thursday, as he continues to work his way back from a sore knee. The running back currently is listed as questionable on the injury report, but the Vikings expect him to be available for Sunday's matchup with the Chicago Bears, barring any setbacks.

10/11/2005

Williams used the Vikings' bye week to rest a sore knee, and barring any setbacks, he will be available for Sunday's meeting with the Chicago Bears, according to head coach Mike Tice. The injury forced the running back to miss the team's Week 4 loss to the Atlanta Falcons.

10/2/2005

Vikings running back Moe Williams will be inactive for this week's game against the Falcons. Williams was listed as questionable on the team's injury report with a sore knee. Mewelde Moore will be the starting running back, while Michael Bennett or Ciatrick Fason will take over as the third-down back.

9/30/2005

Williams was hoping to work out with the Vikings late this week, but after missing practice both Thursday and Friday, he has been downgraded from probable to questionable on the team's injury report for Sunday's meeting with the Atlanta Falcons. The reserve running back is nursing a sore knee, and he reportedly will be a game-time decision this weekend.

9/29/2005

Williams is battling some minor soreness in his right knee, so the Vikings decided to hold him out of practice on Wednesday as a precautionary measure. The running back is slated to work out with the team over the next couple of days and be ready for Sunday's matchup with the Atlanta Falcons. Officially, he is listed as probable.
