Attempting to break up a pass in the fourth quarter of Sunday's playoff loss to the Carolina Panthers, Muhammad suffered a broken bone in his right hand. As expected, Muhammad was back on the practice field Thursday, taking part in the Bears' entire workout. Nursing a sore back, the receiver was held out on Wednesday as a precationary measure and originally was listed as probable for Sunday's meeting with the Green Bay Packers. Following practice, the Bears removed Muhammad from the injury report.

Muhammad was held out of Wednesday's practice as a precautionary measure, allowing him to rest his sore back. The receiver, who is listed as probable on the Bears' injury report this week, plans to return to the field within the next day or two and be ready for Sunday's tussle with the Green Bay Packers.

Including the postseason, Muhammad did not have a catch for the first time in 51 games, failing to haul in a pass in Sunday's win over the Green Bay Packers. The Bears did not need to utilize the pass very often in the contest, as quarterback Kyle Orton finished with just six completed passes for 68 yards on the day.

Muhammad has been listed as probable on the Bears' injury report this week, as he continues to slowed by soreness in his side. The receiver, who took a hard hit to his ribs last weekend, plans to be in the starting lineup for Sunday's home opener against the Detroit Lions, barring any last-minute setbacks. He did not work out with the team on Wednesday, but should be back on the field Thursday or Friday.
