Ernie Conwell

11/30/2005

Conwell will miss the rest of the season after undergoing surgery to repair the torn posterior cruciate ligament in his knee on Wednesday. The tight end, who has been sidelined since suffering the injury in a Week 8 meeting with the Miami Dolphins, will be placed on injured reserve by the New Orleans Saints.

Conwell continues to be bothered by discomfort in his ailing knee, and there is a chance he could be forced to go under the knife, which would end his 2005 campaign. The Saints' tight end, who tore the posterior cruciate ligament in the knee during a Week 8 meeting with the Miami Dolphins, will be re-evaluated by a specialist this week to determine if surgery is necessary.

Conwell, who has been sidelined since suffering a torn posterior cruciate ligament in an Oct. 30 loss to the Miami Dolphins, will not be available for New Orleans' game against the New York Jets on Sunday.

Conwell is not expected to play in Sunday's matchup with the New England Patriots, and he could miss up to three more games, as he recovers from a torn posterior cruciate ligament in his knee. The Saints' tight end recorded 13 catches for 165 yards and a touchdown in eight games this season prior to suffering the injury.

Further tests on Conwell's sore knee have revealed a torn posterior cruciate ligament. The Saints' tight end, who suffered the injury in Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins, is expected to be sidelined for the next 3-6 weeks. In his absence, Shad Meier likely will fill the void in the starting lineup.

Conwell likely will be limited in practice this week after aggravating his sore knee in Sunday's loss to the Miami Dolphins. According to Saints head coach Jim Haslett, the veteran tight end currently is considered questionable for next weekend's meeting with the Chicago Bears.

10/14/2005

Conwell has been listed as questionable on the Saints' injury report after being forced to leave last weekend's loss to the Green Bay Packers with a back injury. However, the tight end made it through Thursday's practice without any major problems and should be in the lineup for Sunday's meeting with the Atlanta Falcons.

Conwell was able to take part in portions of the Saints' practice on Thursday, and he is optimistic that he'll be available for Monday night's meeting with the New York Giants. The tight end suffered a concussion and displaced jaw when he took a hard hit in the third quarter of last Sunday's season opener against the Carolina Panthers and has been listed as questionable on this week's injury report.

Conwell might be forced to miss some time after suffering a concussion and displaced jaw when he took a hard hit in the third quarter of Sunday's season opener against the Carolina Panthers. The Saints' tight end will be re-evaluated on Monday to determine his status.

8/9/2005

Conwell will be limited over the next few days and his availability for Friday's exhibition game against the Seattle Seahawks is in question after straining his groin during the Saints' workouts on Monday. Officially, the tight end has been listed as day-to-day for the time being.
