Evans has been slow to recover after undergoing back surgery last September, and as a result, he has decided to retire from football. The Jets' defensive tackle, who had agreed to a one-year contract earlier this month, was limited to just one game last season. He finishes his 10-year career with 227 tackles and 21.5 sacks in 95 games, including 53 starts.
