Matt Turk

9/10/2005

The Miami Dolphins placed Turk on injured reserve with a groin injury Saturday, ending the punter's 2005 season before it even began. To take Turk's spot, the Dolphins elevated fellow punter Donnie Jones from its practice squad.

Turk underwent a precautionary MRI after slightly pulling his right groin while warming up for last weekend's preseason game. The Dolphins will limit the punter's work this week and plan to hold him out of Thursday's exhibition finale against the Atlanta Falcons. He should be ready for Week 1 of the regular season.
