Sidelined since injuring his ankle in New England's regular-season opener against the Oakland Raiders, Poole has been placed on injured reserve by the Patriots, officially bringing his 2005 campaign to an end. The cornerback has appeared in just six games over the past two seasons combined, notching 15 tackles and one interception.

Still nursing a sprained ankle, Poole was inactive for Sunday's meeting with the Pittsburgh Steelers, missing his second consecutive game. The Patriots' cornerback has been sidelined since suffering the injury in the team's season opener against the Oakland Raiders on September 8.
