Bryant Young

12/15/2005

Young, who has been sidelined for nearly a month with tears of the medial collateral ligament and meniscus in his right knee, was back at practice with the San Francisco 49ers on Wednesday. Barring any setbacks, the veteran defensive end will be in the lineup for Sunday's tussle with the Jacksonville Jaguars. Officially, he has been listed as probable.

An MRI exam has revealed that Young has tears of the medial collateral ligament and meniscus in his right knee, injuries suffered while making a tackle on Seattle's Shaun Alexander on Sunday. The defensive lineman, who also sprained his ankle on the play, is not expected to require surgery at this point, but he will be sidelined for at least the next three weeks. If he doesn't respond to treatment, there is a chance Young could miss the rest of the 2005 campaign.
