Josh Rupe

3/14/2006

Rupe, a 23-year-old rookie battling for the fifth-starter role in the Texas rotation, will have an MRI exam Tuesday after feeling soreness in his pitching elbow. The right-hander enjoyed a promising debut with the Rangers in 2005, working 9 2/3 innings and posting a win and a 2.79 ERA. The win came in his only start of his big league tenure on Sept. 16, when he worked five innings in his debut against Seattle.
