C.J. Wilson

3/25/2006

Wilson may be cleared to pitch for the Rangers in their spring training game with the Milwaukee Brewers on Sunday. He is suffering from soreness in his shoulder and had a pain-free throwing session on Friday.

The Texas Rangers recalled Wilson from Double-A Frisco. The rookie lefthander is 1-6 with a 7.58 ERA in 13 games (six starts) for the Rangers. He is 1-1 with a save and a 1.65 ERA in his seven relief appearances. He's been roughed up as a starter.

After picking up his first major league win in the first game of the Texas Rangers' Tuesday doubleheader with the Chicago White Sox, Wilson was optioned to Double-A Frisco to make room for Game 2 starter Edison Volquez. Wilson departs with a 1-6 record, a save and 7.58 ERA in 13 games (six starts) for Texas.

Wilson has been recalled to make Sunday's start for suspended lefthander Kenny Rogers. The Texas Rangers optioned first baseman Adrian Gonzalez to Triple-A Oklahoma to make room for Wilson, who has gone 0-2 with an 8.78 ERA in three starts and three relief appearances for Texas this season.

7/30/2005

The Texas Rangers are expected to recall Wilson from the minors, so the rookie southpaw can make a start in place of the suspended Kenny Rogers on Sunday. Wilson was 0-2 with an 8.78 ERA in three starts and three relief appearances earlier this season for Texas.

7/20/2005

The Texas Rangers have recalled Wilson once again from Double-A Frisco. This time the lefthander is expected to provide a fresh arm in the Rangers' bullpen. The 24-year-old rookie had come up earlier in the season, when the Rangers were looking for someone to fill a hole in the Texas rotation. He went 0-2 with a 10.45 ERA in three starts, but fared much better in three relief appearances. In six games with Texas, he has an 8.78 ERA.

7/7/2005

Wilson has been optioned to Double-A Frisco by the Texas Rangers after going 0-2 with an 8.78 ERA in six appearances, including three starts. The 24-year-old lefthander was 0-3 with a 5.97 ERA in eight starts for the minor league club prior to his stint with the Rangers.

6/17/2005

The Texas Rangers have seen enough of Pedro Astacio's poor performances, and reportedly they are ready to give his scheduled start against Washington on Sunday to Wilson. The 24-year-old lefthander would get the call if the Rangers decide to release Astacio or put him on the disabled list. Wilson, a rookie who was recalled a week ago, has allowed just one run in three relief appearances. He has posted a 3.00 ERA over three innings of work.

The Texas Rangers recalled Wilson from Double-A Frisco on Friday, when they placed Nick Regilio on the 15-day disabled list and optioned Michael Tejera back to Triple-A Oklahoma. Wilson, a 24-year-old lefthander, was 0-3 with a 5.97 ERA in eight starts for Frisco.
